Linda knew what she needed to rule in the corporate world

Linda refused to settle for her Marketing Exec’s report. Her father had bootstrapped the growth of his manufacturing business, and she had proven her capabilities by entering new markets globally. He had transferred the company to her leadership, and she disagreed that she needed to slow the growth.

“We’ve got to develop the brand more carefully,” the marketing team wrote in a report.

She saw opportunities in the aerospace and automotive industries and didn’t want foreign or domestic suppliers to crowd her out. The motives seemed suspect.

The executive team’s refusal to cooperate with her was more insidious. Digging through past notes, she discovered other white-collar barons waiting for her dad to step down and for a leadership battle to ensue. No one had expected Linda to be chosen as the CEO.

The days were filled with battles, and she was thankful to have a home where she could unwind. Although, the home seemed empty, and having someone else share the space played in her subconscious.
